Family... Richard has been married to Gretchen since 1971. They live in Trumansburg , NY . They have three children. The oldest, Erin, is presently pursuing graduate studies at Ohio State in Columbus Ohio, culminating in an M.D - PhD. Erin aspires to pursue a career in biological research. Jason, a recent college graduate, summa cum laude, in business administration is currently pursuing a career in MIS and operations management working for the Department of Justice. Ryan, an honors student, is now pursuing college studies at Cornell University in computer engineering.
Interdisciplinary Studies... McDaniel has pursued a life long interest in interdisciplinary studies through the selection of reading and ongoing courses and seminars. Recent courses taken have covered such disciplines as ancient Greece , ancient Rome , Byzantine history, the several courses on the history of science, evolution, CS Lewis, New Testament survey, and a study of physics, focusing on general relativity and quantum mechanics.
Household projects... McDaniel enjoys restoring and maintaining the house and grounds of a beautiful Greek revival homestead, built in the 1850s.
Personal Outreach... Richard and Gretchen are also actively involved in community service, preferring one on one outreach. This includes financial and other counseling and practical help of various kinds
